How Can

Home Care

Help You?

Extending Independence at Home

We were founded under the principle of extending senior independence through home care. It is our belief that people should have the dignity and right to choose where they live, no matter what. We specialize in providing holistic, everyday help, allowing you or your loved one to continue to remain exactly where you want to.

Everyday help

Our caregivers can help with a whole host of your basic care needs. These can include, but are not limited to, such items as the following:

Medication reminders, light housekeeping, staying active and healthy, transportation, personal care, bathing assistance, companionship, social interaction, respite care, meal preparation, Alzheimer's and dementia care, and more!

Support for you & your family

One of our core tenants is "Letting Daughters be Daughters Again" as we encounter so many daughters (and sons!) who have a massive burden of being the sole caregiver for a loved one. This responsibility is on top of all of their other duties and responsibilities, such as to their own kids, spouses, careers, and even hobbies. They have to sacrifice so much, and it is often in a place of isolation where very few can understand all that is going on in their lives. This usually leads to guilt with the ever present question, "Am I doing enough?"

First off, we want to assure you that you are. Second, while few will understand the stress you are going through, we understand it completely and are here to help. That is why we do everything in our power to remove the stress and guilt you are feeling by partnering up with you in the care you are providing for your loved one.

We take the above word "partnering" very seriously. That is why we do more than just your normal home care agency. We work closely with you from start to finish. With close to 30 years of industry experience and a combined total of 50+ years of industry experience amongst our care team, we are here for all your needs. Need to find local area villages? We can help! Need durable medical equipment delivered to your home? We can work with our community partners to get that sorted! We have even worked with some of our local competitors to find the right blend of care for previous clients. That's how serious we are about meeting the care needs of your loved one.

When is home care helpful?

Home care is very similar to living in an assisted living facility with one key difference: you are being cared for in the comfort of your own home. There really is no easy answer to deciding when home care can be helpful. However, often times home care is a great place to start, especially if you just need a little bit of help. Even if you require extensive amounts of help, home care can be an avenue to continue to live where you or your loved one wants to live. Below are some situations that home care might be helpful:

Situation #1: Just getting started

Your father and mother have lived comfortably in their own home for many years. However, recently you have noticed that they both seem a bit forgetful, especially in taking their medications. In this case, a home care aide could swing by for an hour or two and help remind them to take their medications, as well as cook them a light meal to make sure they are well fed. In addition, the aide may help clean out the cat's litter-box that has also been neglected recently.

Situation #2: More hands on care needed

Your mother lives along and has some pretty bad mobility issues. You are concerned that something may happen while you are away on a work trip for a few weeks. In this case, a caregiver can help provide your mother with daily assistance for more than a few hours a day. The aide can help with ambulation, cooking, cleaning and bathing assistance, among other things that might be required. This gives you some peace-of-mind while you are away.

Situation #3: Full-time care required

Your neighbor lives all be herself. While she is still sharp as a tack, she can no longer take care of herself due to her deteriorating physical condition. She is often bed-bound with limited to no mobility. However, she is refusing to leave her home since she has lived in it for years. In this case, round the clock care by one or multiple aides to assist with all types of activities of daily living (ADLs) would be beneficial to allow her to continue to live where she is most comfortable: her home.

How quickly can home care start?

The simple answer to that question is it depends. However, we strive for a staffing turnaround time of 24 hours or less. We have even staffed cases in two hours or less. Typically, our RN does a care assessment (completely free with zero commitments!) to help you decide if home care is right for you and, if so, what care needs can be met by ACCfamily. From there, you are assigned a care coordinator who will locate the best possible aide to take care of your loved one. If you desire, you will be given a chance to meet the aide with an orientation or meet-and-greet before care starts. We want you to be able to get comfortable with the idea of care before it begins and take as long (or as quickly) as you want before you decide you are ready.
